I came back from Jeju Island..

For the first time, I heard
The sounds of the flat, foresty path.
I also walked through the trailless parts of the forest,
All the while getting rained on,
Without a word…I just met the rain.
I became so thoroughly soaked that even when the rain stopped,
I was able to harness that moisture into my skin.
I was also able to harness the tears that threatened to overwhelm me in the past.
I feel like I can now withstand the dryness of LA’s perpetual drought.
Even hearing music about the rain,
Is enough to sustain me so I don’t miss it.
